Parania attained her degree with a double major in welfare and sociology then spent a number of years in welfare working in Mental Health, Intellectual Disability, Domestic Violence Counselling, Workplace Health and Safety and many other related areas. Finally back in early 2000 Parania decided that she needed some 'me' time and she set off to explore the world. She has now been on the road so to speak for over 10 years, touching base with home on a regular basis.
Parania loves travel as she had previous to obtaining her degree she had spent over 20 years in an active role within the tourism sector. In 1988 she published her first book a travel guide. Exploration and knowledge is what drives Parania to write for a number of magazines and papers such as Cruising Helmsman, Mulltihull World, The Coastal Passage and others. She remains ever ready to explore when the opportunity presents itself. Travelling by whatever means available, however a yacht has become the primary for of transport, followed closely by car, train, foot, bicycle and any other means. Travelling has allowed Parania to meet many fascinating people from around the world whilst at the same time writing about her experiences.
When home she loves to veg out and relax and enjoy her avid love for the good things such as wine, music and gardening. Parania has a love of life and plans to live it to the fullest and is currently experiencing the very new benefits of being a nana to twins. They take up much of her time, not that she is complaining.
